HOW TO CHOOSE OPTIONAL FOR THE CIVIL SERVICES EXAM

Choosing optional will always remains a vague idea because no one can say that which in which optional you can score much & which option will be good for you. But even then technically if you apply some tips then it may be easier for you to find the optional subjects. Before discussing points for selecting your optional subject you should know the subjects available to UPSC for the civil services exam.

Friends there is some important points which helps you to select your option subject in civil services exam.

  • Know your interest & your curiosity.

  • Try to know that how much time you can spent with a single subject for a long time.

  • Know your mind, which attracts you more than everything like Nature, Politics, Culture, Physiology, Language, Technology, Management etc.

  • Know your schedule & routine study- which subject is always in your preference.

  • Know your mental strength- Does you link conceptual subjects or theoretical subjects.

Final Selection of Subjects in Two Stages:-

STAGE 1

Friends my advice for you that you should take time to choose the subject, before choosing the subject you should atleast you should read the NCERTs of all subjects and make your basic concepts very strong and then you should take the decision for selecting the subject, no need to ask to any one because know one know your capacity, your interest, your likes & dislikes. Just leave every thing and after knowing the subjects basic decide yourself that which subject will be good option for your Civil Service exam.

STAGE 2
Now after selection of the subject students mostly diverted by looking at others like if someone has topped the exam with different subject then students generally think to change the subject. But this is the worst situation for you if you are thinking to change the subject even if you have prepared for a month or two. Because this process will make your confidence level down & also loose your determination. So, friends if you have decided a subject for the Civil Services Exam then you should stick to your subject till the selection.
